2005 Notre Dame Season Schedule
The 2005 Notre Dame season schedule will be a real challenge to the recently struggling, yet legendary Fighting Irish football team. Last year, Notre Dame’s record fell to .500 with a dismal record of 6-6. For a team used to being a competitor, it will be interesting to see how this team can bounce back in the 2005 season. In the 2004 season, Notre Dame showed some promise early with wins against Michigan & Michigan State only to end the season on a 3 game losing streak… all this just a couple years removed from a nearly storybook 2002 season with a 10-3 record as they won their first eight games.
2005 Notre Dame Season Schedule: A Closer Look
Let’s look at the key match-ups for the upcoming season. In Notre Dame’s second game, the Fighting Irish will tackle Michigan on the road. Notre Dame recovered the Wolverines last minute onsides kick to seal the victory last year. However, 2 years ago the Irishmen were shut out at Michigan. This game will be a litmus test for the rest of the season. Another key game, in my opinion, comes 5 weeks later in the season when Notre Dame hosts the defending national champion. Notre Dame & USC football tickets for that game will be tough to get. The Trojans return Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Matt Leinart, and they’ll be ready to prove their worth at the top of the rankings this year. If Notre Dame can hold its own in this game, no one can rightfully say Notre Dame had a bad season.
